chocchipcookie: It is not a heavy cream sauce, just a sauce containing heavy cream lol. It is a dish found only around Utica, NY (probably originated from someone throwing together everything they had in their pantry).
Your dinner sounds fantastic. Alas, my DH is allergic to shrimp and is a 6 year old when it comes to leafy greens :P

ghostfire - I need that recipe! I would love to try these silly little beans in a baked bean or barbeque bean recipe. I think they would be divine.

toblin - All I can say is YUM! I’ve never even had duck but oh it sounds so yummy.

Pretty good dinner here tonight. I chopped the gorgeous broccoli from the farmer’s market really fine, simmered in olive oil and garlic. Cooked up whole grain rotini. Threw it into pan with a jar of Costco marinara, cut up some black olives and grated in some leftover fresh mozzarella and paremesan. Then served. It was kind of quirky but quite yummy. Excellent bottle of DeLoach Cabernet alongside.

We celebrate Wednesday in our house.

Tonight I’m going to boil some wild mushroom-riccota ravioli from Costco and serve them with a huge green salad (baby greens, spinach, avocado, red bell pepper, shredded carrots, purple onion, and dill - all drizzled with TJ’s rice vinegar).

Shrinkrap, your eggplant recipe sounds yum!

Pork chops brined in apple cider, fresh sage and sliced onion, then grilled. A side of baked sweet potatoes and shredded purple cabbage sweated until very, very tender in chicken broth and bit of butter.

And Shrinkrap–I’m going to try your eggplant recipe! I have soooo many eggplants from my garden still coming in.

You people and your eggplant…Have you watched the new FoodNetwork show “$24 in 24”? Jeff Morrow picks a big city and has to eat breakfast, lunch, snack and dinner for $24 or under ( we love the show!). Anyway, this week he went to a place in Minneapolis that made eggplant fries. Cut like fries and double dipped before frying. Another way to use up those eggplants!

Pork chops marinated in soy ginger sauce. Butternut squash macaroni and cheese–recipe from Cooking Light, some leftover roasted sweet potatoes. Skipped the salad tonight.

baked flounder, roasted broccoli, leftover eggplant parmesan.

Chicken soup with orzo…love it!

Vegetable quiche, a big green salad, and berries for dinner here tonight. Too lazy to cook tonight…tossing together a quiche does not count as cooking!

Tonight it’s slow-cooked ribs in the oven, using a spice rub - paprika, chili powder, brown sugar, cumin, black pepper, white pepper, cayenne pepper, ground mustard, garlic salt, and a little celery seed.

Corn on the cob to go with it.

Tonight - last night’s leftover chicken cacciatore, salad, crusty baguette and Chianti (my new favorite house wine.)

Shrimp and bok choy stir fry.

Something frozen from Trader Joes.

It’s been a long week, and i have a zillion essays to grade.

Chicken breasts with Dinosaur BBQ sauce, rice, and salad. Nothing too exciting here.

Another lazy but delicious meal. Spaghetti with meatballs and salad.

My easy “cheaters” quiche, steamed green beans, sliced tomatoes! Cupcakes from the local bakery for a treat later ( hey, youngest D is studying for midterms - she needs them for motivation!!!)

Picked up the stuffed peppers from Costco today for tomorrow evenings meal. Most of those prepared meals I can make better myself at home…less calories, sodium, etc., but we all seem to like those stuffed peppers. Also picked up some spinach pancakes they were demonstrating today with tzadiki sauce…still better than eating out price wise! :)

abasket: eggplant fries are yummy!

boneless chicken cutlet in a lovely dijon mustard sauce with rice and green peas…nice glass of wine to wash it down

Pizza made with a whole wheat Boboli type crust, tomato sauce made from my enormous pile of CSA tomatoes, mozzarella and Parmesan, Italian seasoning. Salad.
