What's for dinner at your house tonight?

We are having ribeye steak, salad, and half a baked potato…we were going to have some soup, but my husband forgot to put the soup in the fridge and it was out all night.

We had the best steak and cheese sandwiches with fries and Wickles pickles. The sandwich recipe was on Pinterest. It is soooo good!

After working in the yard for 5 hours the best I could muster up was a plate of bean and cheese nachos with fresh jalape

Sloppy Joes, something we haven’t had in years.

Only 2 hours of yard work for me today.

Trader joes mushroom ravioli, turkey parmesan meatballs, plus homemade, jarred marinara sauce, and spinach salad with apples and lemon evoo dressing.

And thanks for the info about the posts not changing in the cafe :). Guess I’ll have to post something other than about food!

I bought a huge beef tip roast at Costco at $2.99 lb, 13/1/2 lbs of beef. I cut it in half and using a recipe online, made a roast beef last night. I froze the other half. It made a great med rare roast and the drippings and bits for gravy were particularly superb. Some of the leftovers will go for sandwiches and the rest will go for a comfort dinner where I’ll make open faced RB sandwiches with gravy and mashed potatoes.

The hunk in the freezer will go in the crock pot for a pot roast. Leftovers from that will be pot roast subs and beef stew, three dinners there with that piece. And two out of the roast, since the sandwiches will be lunches and snacks. Not bad for a little over $40.

old fashion oatmeal with apples, raisins, pecans and brown sugar. Hot mug of tea and in my sweats!

^^^^
That sounds good sistersunnie, I would use crasins instead of raisins though.

I made the pot roast but I didn’t have any broth so used more coffee & water.
Also had to cook it longer - I need to find my crockpot.
Didn’t have any cloves, used star anise instead which gave it kind of an Asian flavor.
I think I like cloves better- except when you bite down on one!

Appetizers at a bar & grill, courtesy of the alumni club that funds our monthly happy hours. :)

Tonight I made a ratatouille of roasted peppers, onions, spinach, kale, tomatoes, garlic, zucchini and summer squash and mixed it into a spaghetti sauce and poured it over large cheese tortelloni, side of sauteed string beans, sugar snap peas and sno peas and garlic bread.

Tomorrow night we are going out! :)

DH made me a grilled cheese and tomato sandwich and he ate a smorgasbord of left overs.

reservations,sushi

We had clam chowder and sandwiches. They were supposed to be grilled cheese. Alas, I forgot the cheese, so it ended up being peanut butter. Sometimes, I just like soup and sandwich.

Apple crisp. And that’s it. Except for some wine to wash it down.

i love Sloppy Joes and grilled cheese and apple crisp and wine too!

^^me too. Sloppy Joes and grilled cheese (a very sharp cheddar) are some of my favorites. I’d add those, but it’s too much effort and I’m just not hungry enough.

We have the best sharp cheddar in VT–Cabot’s seriously sharp. Yum. So meltingly delicious. It would be good with any soup.

I will write that down on my grocery list for tomorrow. Sounds incredible.

Costco rotisserie chicken and salad.

busdriver–it’s also called hunter’s cheddar and I swear I own no stock, it is just seriously good. Wins awards all over the world.

And I love a good rotisserie chicken too. They make incredible sandwiches, soups, whatever.
