What is it like living in a triple in a res hall?

Depends on the hall. And your roommates. And you. Can be crowded, can be intimate. It is what you make it.

Takes some getting used to, but not too long. I was comfortable living in a res hall triple within a week.

The biggest potential issue, of course, would be roommates. But this can be a problem whether you are in a triple, or a double, or even a single in a plaza or suite (as you will still have to share a bathroom).

The only people I have known who have had a major problem living in a triple are from a filthy rich family or an only child (and even then many of them still adjust, it just takes a little longer). So if you’re not a spoiled brat, you should be fine.

The res halls are a bit cramped, but honestly it’s no big deal. You’re going to be in your room mainly to just sleep anyways. Some people study in their rooms, but many others study in a lounge or library with their friends.

The most important thing is your roommates. If you have 2 awesome roommates, it won’t matter how small your room is. If you have 2 roommates from hell, it won’t matter how big your room is.

I lived in a triple in a plaza my first and second year. First year was hell because, well I had horrible, awful roommates. I was in my room only to sleep. I hated that place.

My second year I lived with friends and it was one of the best times of my life. I loved every minute of it.
