What's it like without a car?

I won’t know anybody, so what’s it like?
How do most people in this situation shop for stuff and get around. I’m planning on walking everywhere because I hate the bus, but is this realistic?
I won’t have a bike either.
Also, will twin sheets fit on a twin XL bed if I really try?
thanks

It completely depends on where you’re living.

Twin sheets barely fit a twin.

its fine.

and no because the beds are like 5inches longer.

You’d be better off posting the car question in your school’s forum.

Twin XL sheets are easy to find, and you need them. You CAN make a twin-sized duvet or quilt work for a twin XL bed (I did and you couldn’t tell the difference) or you can get a full-sized duvet and double it over.

Thanks. It’s a small town. I guess a better question would be, should I get a bike even for a small town of less than 18000 people.

Depends on where that small town is. If it’s a small town in MA, then sure, you don’t need a car. Small town in AZ? If you don’t have a car you’re screwed.

Nah, a small town in Arizona would be fine to have only a bike. But there aren’t any colleges in small towns, haha. There’s only CCs here and then the three big universities, the smallest of which is in a town of moderate size, but you could get to anywhere you needed to with a bike in that town.

A bike would be of a lot of benefit, and you don’t know anyone NOW but you will meet people, and you will likely meet people with cars. You’ll be fine with just a bike.

And twin sheets don’t really fit on twin xl beds. They stay until you get on the bed and actually sleep. At that point, the bottom ricochets off and your feet are in nylon city.
