participant in NHS
and looking into either Materials Eng. or Chemistry

so based off of this information what are my chances on getting into NYU?

I’m not going to harp on the writing score, but it will hurt you significantly. You have a very strong GPA, what is your class rank?

You have weak EC’s, get some more leadership positions, win some regional or state awards and then you have a better shot. The average SAT is around a 1350 for CAS, with strong grades.

I got in because of my EC’s, and I still had a 4.1 and 1950 SAT. It was cutting it very close.

Maybe take the tests again?

your chance could be fairly high if you apply to Polytech… they are now officially a part of NYU and hands out the NYU degree.

I’m not sure if I’d advise that, considering barely anyone knows how exactly this merger will impact students of both schools. Maybe in 2-3 years when it clears up it may be more advisable.

they don’t look at the writing score or give it any weight…you’re lucky (at least with your NYU application)
