What's life in a student society?

I’m at a university in europe… and as you might already know there are no “fraternities” or “sororities” here. And student society activity (at least on continental europe) is, well, not that active.
I just wanted to ask you folks what kind of things you do when you are part of a society. Do you have “privileges”? Like free tickets to concerts and that kind of stuff? Special offers?
I’d be curious because I would like to propose some possible improvements at our own university.
Thanks :)

Never heard of student societies, sorry.

There’s not really student societies here alero. I don’t know how they work in europe, but the closest we have to that are things like fraternities and sororities. They’re pretty much social societies here, parties, alumni networking, that kinda thing.

my school (and i’m sure others also) have groups that schedule things that are open to everyone. They bring movies or bands to campus, things like that. When they bring bands, the students get in for free or reduced price on the public tickets.

Yeah, I think what I meant was fraternities and sororities… I guess that’s what they are called over there in the US :D
