Steve, that reminds me of my dad. Nobody ever knows what to get him so eventually we go in together and get him something big… Then at Christmas he’s done opening things in about five min and spends the rest if the time watching us.

I want a new bathrobe…as in terry cloth out of the bath/ shower robe. Also I saw a clock I like from a furniture maker I like a lot . It was on sale, but I think it might be gone already. That is the only indulgent thing on my list, other things are practical and the usual useful gadgets

I’m constantly getting stuff out of the house so I really don’t want more coming in to the house. I enjoy organization and I would love to have one of those NeatDesk organizers that would allow me to scan and save documents on my computer or a hard drive and shred the hard copies. I also would love to have an Ancestry.com memberhsip.

I love my Barnes & Noble giftcards. Shopping for Nook books is getting to be my Christmas afternoon tradition. It’s so relaxing after the hectic season, and bustle of the morning.

Another tradition since D started college is a post Christmas mother-daughter trip to Bath & Body Works, so I’m hoping for a matched set of BBW giftcards.

Fortunately, DH is well-trained on our giftcard preferences. :)

Other than that, not much. Maybe a new crockpot.

No list here. As the only female in a household of men who would rather have a root canal than shop,I gave up expecting gifts years ago. Sometimes, DH and I buy ourselves something we need/want and call it a Christmas gift.

S1 has started buying us gifts since he graduated from college but he’ll be deployed to the Middle East on Christmas this year. We’ll have to skype “Merry Christmas” to him this year.
I don’t let the lack of gifts bother me. It’s easier not to stress so much over stuff that really doesn’t matter than much.

Splashmom - I have a friend who got her mom something similar to ancestry.com membership for Christmas. I’d love to do that but my parents are from Mexico. :)

Swimcatsmom, so happy to hear the news about your husband! Time is the greatest gift. That is wonderful that you will be able to see your son this Christmas. Safe and happy travels!

Garland, I feel like you do (more a gathering of the day than stuff), but the rest of my family is not quite there yet. :)

Swimcatsmom and SteveMA, please know that you and your families will be in my prayers.

Lasma, all I ever want is an Amazon giftcard so I can buy books on my Kindle whenever I want to. My husband just doesn’t get it and it is a point of contention.

Our best gift is that we will have both our kids home for at least 2 weeks together this Dec/Jan! It will be the longest time the 4 of us have been together since summer 2010, when S graduated and we took a 3 week trip together. We’re thrilled.

Just bought D a lovely designer purse at Costco.com today. It was a huge splurge and will be her combined Christmas and graduation gift. It was a one-day event only!

H & I tend to buy what we want when we see it. We also seem to have more “stuff” than we need and are earnestly working to de-clutter. Don’t really want more things and would just be happy to have a lot of time with our kids and loved ones.

I mostly just wanted a nice pair of warm winter boots with good treads on the bottom. I usually fare winter with my sneakers but the treads are so worn out on all of them I would probably fall a lot this year. Found those as a doorbuster on Black Friday at a price we could actually afford. Other than that I would really like some decent pans that aren’t paper thin and a massage would be amazing. I know I’m getting the pans because I waited in line for them for my mother at Target for an hour, and then when I brought them back to the car she declared that they were mine. :)

Don’t think I will get the last thing on my list but maybe next year. Needed the boots and that will be my “gift” from my fiance. (His gift is a 1TB external hard drive.)
