<p>Santa came early to the Pack house. S1 was here for Thanksgiving. S2 (new college grad) is living with us. Since S1 (U.S. Navy) deploys on Tues. for the Middle East, I decided to give him his Christmas gift on Thanksgiving…a Kindle Fire HD. S2 disappears for a minute and then reappears w/ two boxes. Says since S1 opened his gift DH and I we might as well have ours…a Kindle Fire HD w/case! S2 had no idea we had bought one for S1 but had heard me mention how cool it would be to have one.<br>
My plan was to also buy one for S2 but had not purchased yet. Told S2 there would be one for him on Christmas so he wouldn’t feel left out. He said good thing I didn’t buy yet because he might want the larger version. So I guess S2 will get an Amazon gift card for Christmas to use toward purchase of the larger KF.</p>
<p>I’m still not quite sure why S2 popped out w/ the gift for us instead of waiting for Christmas. He knew I really wanted one so maybe he was afraid DH might go buy one before Christmas…not likely based on past history,lol.</p>
<p>S2’s card attached to the box said “Merry Christmas and thanks for being awesome parents”. That was enough. Not gonna lie though…love the Kindle Fire. We already had the basic Kindle. Now we won’t have to wait on one another to use it.</p>

<p>I told my kids I wanted a framed picture of the two of them together. </p>
<p>My husband and I are replacing the fountain in the backyard (that never worked properly) with a fire pit as our present to each other. I also bought him the prettiest grill cleaner you’ve ever seen. Stainless steel and copper, elegant design. Even if it doesn’t work, it sure is pretty. </p>

<p>My husband and I are having a huge battle over this. It’s gotten ugly. He gave me a long list a while ago and I bought much of the stuff on the list. However, there is not a single thing I want this year and I despise spending money just to spend money, so I haven’t given him any ideas. He is absolutely off-the-wall angry about this.</p>

I want this too. And someone needs to clean out enough the basement so I can actually use it. I could use more sweaters, all my favorite ones seem to have holes or coffee stains.</p>
<p>Thanks for reminding me of Nate Silver’s book. I’d like to read it, but it’s a great idea for impossible to find anything for husband. All he’s said so far is clothes. Very vaguely.</p>
<p>Really are big gift is going to Jordan for a week. Maybe we’ll pick up some stuff there…</p>

<p>Got the greatest gift of all. Spouse gave the go ahead on adding two new members to the family. I have been grieving the loss of our two beautiful retrievers for the last year. I will be looking for two rescues from our no kill pound to become part of our family. I know we will find each other.</p>

<p>I forgot to say earlier that I did get an iPod touch 16 GB. It’s not the 5th Generation but I honestly do not care. I’m so grateful and lucky for my parents. :D</p>
