I’ve come to realize that doing scholar bowl for years has resulted in me picking up bizarre and often hilarious bits of information, and it’s lovely to know these things, even if they’re completely irrelevant! For example, Bobby Jindal participated in an exorcism and published an article about it, while the performance of the ballet Rite of Spring literally caused riots within the audience while the ballet went on.
