latin? greek? or spanish? or chinese?

probably spanish, since its the second most common language spoken in the US.

I hate Spanish so much but stonecold23 is right. Spanish is the one and only way to go for a second language in America. That doesn’t mean that your other language exploits won’t be appreciated, just not nearly as much as your Spanish exploits.

I know it sucks, it hurts me the most, especially since I’m a Japanese major.

Huh… I thought Americans couldn’t become officers in the Japanese army?

But ethnic Japanese can be officers in the US Army. Maybe that’s what he means?

Spanish I guess. I hate Spanish… I can’t stand it.
I can speak
English
Urdu
Sindhi
Punjabi
Hindi

I can read Arabic but I would not know what I was reading. and I have taken Spanish one and two. But I didn’t do any good at it at all.

What are you guys talking about?

My major is Japanese. How did you guys take that as an statement dealing with the army. It hurts me because while I am in the pursuit of learning Japanese it will not be appreciated nearly as much as Spanish.

And pakbabydoll howd you learn all those languages? Where are you going?

You know… a Japanese “major”? The rank of “major” in the army?

'Twas a pun, Major Kenshinsan!

^^^

NO! That is all I can say.

You’re well on your way to becoming a Lieutenant Colonel!

I am from Pakistan. I was born there. A lot of people there speak Sindhi and Punjabi. They are like you know how the Spanish we speak here is different then the Spanish spoken in Spain and other countries.
Hindi is a lot like Urdu, its like a different dialect of Urdu. All the BollyWood movies are made in Hindi.
Urdu is the main language spoken in Pakistan
I learned English in 7th grade when we moved here.
Our holy book (Quran) is in Arabic so practically every Muslim can read Arabic.
In Pakistan they start teaching different languages in 3rd grade unlike here where we did not start Spanish till 9th grade.

I’d say german is the most useful. I mean, 4 WHOLE countries speak it.

More then 4 WHOLE COUNTRIES speak Spanish not to mention that it is the second primary language in USA

But Chinese rules every other language with 1.2 billion speakers!!!

How many people chinese speaking people you know in USA who don’t speak any English?
thats just because China has the largest population.

But German is the PRIMARY language of 4 whole countries. Even Chinese can’t put shame to that claim.

On topic, depends where you went to practice. If in the US, Spanish for sure.

For the record, I can speak, read and write Farsi, Arabic, Spanish and English. French I know, too, though just two high school years’ worth :P

I am so jealous of you ^. I wish I could write and read Arabic. I only know how to read it.

Four countries? I think Spanish kind of wins.
