whats the best p2p software?

Ive heard about DC++ and BitComet. anything else thats real good, or are these the best?

most ppl recommend utorrent; i somehow get better speeds with bitcomet

DC++ and BitComet are in two entirely different categories. The former connects to a file sharing network, the latter is a client which employs BitTorrent to download files. If you’re a casual downloader, use DC++, Limewire, or the like; if you want to download large files (free Linux distributions only, right? ;)), get a BT client. I definitely recommend µTorrent.

I use azureus.

I get anywhere from 100 kB/s to 250 kB/s using µTorrent. Using µTorrent, I’ve downloaded 4 GB+ files in around 15 hours. That isn’t too bad for a torrent.

usenet: 2MB/sec speeds to over 10TB of files :] only downside is that it cost $$ for access unless your isp provides it!

2MB/s?!

SoulSeek. Sorts songs by albums. I prefer BitTornado for a Bit Torrent client. Not that I do any downloading anymore.

I’m pretty sure torrent speeds depends on the torrent…:P

Somewhat, yes. With µTorrent, you can customize your preferences to really speed up your download rate. On a previous connection, I was able to go from a 12kB/s average download rate to a 56kB/s average download rate by just changing the settings.
