depth of study instead of breadth of study (for me at least, I know what I want to do)
a variety of intellectuals who aren’t necessarily antisocial workaholics
a challenge ^_^

The opportunity to attend college provides one with the opportunity to start anew, to build a community with a collection of incredible individuals, and to discover oneself. I’m not sure I was completely satisfied with my high school experience, but I know that it’s up to me to make the college experience amazing for myself and those around me.

new life for sure

Finally getting to study something I truly want to learn and begin the path to my dream career :D

Getting away from my house, lol.

nothing… i want to get out of this $hit as soon as I can…

i love being on schedules and such.

College allows me to be on one.

I can also do what i please in the dorms (i’m not loud or anything) like nap, eat, play video games, etc.

i love being busy

Bahahaha!

Most teenage girls think their moms are psycho.

Since I’ve got nothing else to do…:D

Well, for one, I get to borrow books during the summer from my school’s library when the public libraries don’t have them. I love living just two miles away from my school.

Are there other benefits… I don’t see any, besides working towards a degree of some kind.

intellectual growth and personal growth.

I can’t wait. I’m literally counting the days. 4 more years- 1460 more days. I want out of the little city and stereotypes. I want to be able to go into acting or whatever I want without the judgement in my small town. I’m also SOOO glad to get away from my dad. I’ll sound like every other bratty teenager but I can’t wait. To finally be able to chose my path without him yelling at me over my shoulder about my choice in class, friends, life etc etc etc.
I’m losing all communication with him after HS.

Also, to get away from the rents and siblings!
I swear, sometimes my dad (and sometimes my mom) and little sister are the most annoying people on earth. Seriously.

The more liberal atmosphere (compared to my 95% Christian town).

I’m very excited. I’m excited about the environment; I’ve been to my campus and it’s amazing. I’m EXTREMELY excited for the academics (I’ll probably be singing a different tune in a few months LOL); I’m for the sake of learning (recently discovered this about myself) and taking classes that interest me and broaden my knowledge. At my school, there are llike 5 PreReq classes you must take and the rest is on you, however, for all four years, I plan to take a course in each of the 4 major fields (Math, English, Science, Social Studies) and atleast two classes that I normally would say “Hell No!” to by the end of my career at Bowdoin.

Overall, I’m just totally excited for all the opportunities to better myself physically, academically and mentally. I am really going to try to make the best of my four year stay.

Cheers to COLLEGEEEEEE!

The frontier research opportunities possible right off the bat, and the world-class faculty and brains I will meet in the process.

getting away from this little town I live in where everyone knows everyone’s business… lol also people around here think they’re just the best! it’s quite sad…

leaving home. leaving the parents. leaving behind my virginity.

growing up

the girls on campus I guess. Don’t really enjoy any other part of it. I don’t know, it’s kind of boring after 5 years. Has been for a long time. In 1st year my favourite part was meeting new people, going to parties, and the general excitement behind starting a new stage of my life. Those feelings waned after 1st year and were basically gone after 2nd year.
