What's the deal with this Happy Dave guy?

<p>I’m sure a lot of the current Cornellians have noticed Happy Dave–the guy over in the cafeteria (I think Oakenshields) that swipes your card before you enter and is always happy-lookin’. Huge smile and seems to really enjoy his job which is great. I heard he was actually a Cornell grad and asked him myself to confirm this and he said yes–I think he said he majored in Bio within CAS but I could be wrong about the major. I then asked him why did he want to work here and he said his dad was in the food services industry and this was something that he liked. </p>

<p>I wanted to ask him some other stuff but I thought they were inappropriate. Why is this guy always so happy? Did he not have grades high enough to get a “better” job as like a caterer if he’s so inclined to work within the food services industry? I mean the guy graduated from Cornell so he can’t be slow. Is there some sort of history behind him?</p>

<p>Just something that hit me the other day.</p>

<p>I got stuck in the Philly airport returning to Ithaca one winter break due to all the snow and he was there also. He didn’t look so happy then.</p>

<p>Guy at the Shops of Ithaca Mall GNC said he graduated in '72 and stayed here. Didn’t know why.</p>

<p>Omg, yea, i was gonna ask someone about that guy too. But he always seems to cheer up my day when I see his smile though! :)</p>

<p>There are a LOT of people in Ithaca that went to Cornell/IthacaCol. that just never left.</p>

<p>Happy Dave is one of them…But he’s easily the coolest person ever.</p>
