UPitt asks its applicants to specify whether our classes are full or half-unit courses and whether they are AP, Honors, International Baccalaureate, College in High School, or college/university classes.

So. My question is: what IS a full unit class? a half unit class?
And what’s a “college in high school” class? Is that like, college prep?

In general, a full unit class is a class that is taken year-long, while half-unit classes ones that are taken for only a semester.

I would surmise that “college in high school” classes might be courses that a student would take because the high school does not offer them. For example, an advanced math student who has “run out” of math courses to take might take an online Linear Algebra course from a local college.

I see. Thanks!
But what do I put for regular college prep courses then? :/

They only have:
AP
Honors
International Baccalaureate,
College in HS
college/univ class

Oops, my mistake. The “linear algebra” example would fall under college/univ class. College prep courses would be “College in HS” then. Sorry!

its okay
thanks for your help!
