Good or bad? What’s the percentage of students who live in the dorms? Are there a lot of people living in the greek house/offcampus apts? THX!

i know it’s like 99% or so of the freshmen that live in dorms. and the numbers decrease as you move up, but i don’t think that it ever goes below 90% of the people in each year live in dorms.

in other words, the majority do live in dorms.

thx a lot. Is housing guaranteed for 4 yrs? what about greek houses?

Anyone watching Gossip Girl? All the three main characters now go to Columbia…Maybe you can get a sense of the dorms from the show. =)

How are the supporting facilities? What type of pianos do they use in music rooms?(for non-professional student to practice)

I heard it is Steinway…but not sure…

Yeah I’m watching Gossip Girl lol but I doubt if the dorms are really that FABULOUS ;)

Many freshman live in singles…you can generally get a single if you prefer it. Sophomore year most people get doubles but after that, I think most juniors and singles are able to get singles as well. Housing is guaranteed for 4 years and generally speaking, facilities are quite good considering you live in Manhattan… There are random grand pianos on campus, especially in dorm lounges, but there are also practice room pianos available. Basically everything is pretty practical and you have access to anything that you would need…particularly since you can choose which dorms you want and most of the time, be able to get it.

Freshmen have it good, sophomores have it worse, and then things get steadily better junior year and then senior year.
