What's the drill for requesting SAT & ACT scores?

My daughter will be applying to two colleges which do not accept the Common App. The early action deadline for one is Oct.1, and for the other, Nov.1.

She will also apply to two Common app schools.

Questions:
[ul]
[]Do we request and pay for all schools at the same time?
[]How far in advance should we request scores?
[li]Does my daughter have to send an application to a school, prior to requesting that the scores be sent?[/li][/ul]

She is finished with testing, and we did not request that any scores be sent anywhere at the time she took the SAT and ACT.

Do we request and pay for all schools at the same time? - If you want to

How far in advance should we request scores? - Minimum 4-6 weeks before the deadline, unless you send rush scores

Does my daughter have to send an application to a school, prior to requesting that the scores be sent? - No

If your daughter’s list is set, definitely go the ACT and College Board websites and send the scores. They should be sent to all 4 schools as even Common App schools generally require official score reports from the testing agency. This is one thing that can easily be crossed off the “” list, and even if she decides to apply to additional schools she can go back in and send additional reports.

request and pay at the same time. no advantage that I know of to do it one at a time if you know you will be sending to all of the targeted schools.

Why not request scores now?

Scores often beat the application to the colleges (think of all of those juniors who send score reports when they took the SAT in June). A file will be started at the school when your score report is sent. You don’t need to wait till the app is sent before sending the scores.
