<p>I am accepted to the College of Chemistry as a chemistry major, but I now want to major in physics. I understand that it is easier to switch into L&S than into others, but my question is what is the soonest I would be able to do it? How many semesters would I potentially waste while trying to switch? I understand that I would still be taking very related classes but I do not look forward to starting off my college career knowing I’m in the wrong field and having the headache of switching hanging over my head. This is one of the reasons I’m considering UCSD, as the advisors ive talked to are extremely helpful and willing to do things like this and chemistry is not a separate college than physics there.</p>
