Is it possible to rise from an 1870 to 2200 plus. My friend is studying with me and she wants to raise her scores big time. Is this possible when studying with Barrons.

I know someone who went up 300 points w/Up Your Score.

I went from a 1990 to 2170. I used some SAT math book (since that was the section I wanted to improve most- 630–>740) but besides that didn’t really do any studying.

i have a question if u kinda do bad on the english part is it possible to raise it big time if u do good in english part?

not by the way you type right now.

i type and write differently get ur facts straight

increase of 330 points April to June–no prep, just more sleep, better attitude

I doubt dat

Why would you doubt it?
S had a horrible first showing on the SAT and chose to retake asap
as his first score was significantly lower than predicted from his PSAT, but 2nd
time through he still improved by 240 pts over his score as one might predict from the PSAT and a full 330 from his first SAT
It can happen

Now he will try to do the same with his 2nd time through on the ACT

SnugglexBunnie posts: “i type and write differently get ur facts straight”

DAT is what I doubt

The 330 pt increase is possible in certain cases, I don’t doubt dat

significant increase like that are possible, but not likely. raising from an 1870 to 2200+ is possible with a lot of studying, but even then it will probably end up closer to 2100.

on my first diagnostic test in testakers, I got a 1600 out of 2400. I took the real test this january and got a 2160.

Raised my score 130 points with almost no preparation. Just stopped stupid mistakes. Stupid mistakes may account for 100 points lost when talking 3 sections and extra studying can only help learn a few hundred more vocab words before the test to raise your score 30 points at most. My score was not bad to start with, so not much to learn.

On my PSAT sophmore year I got 196. A practice SAT for the new SAT scored me at 1880ish. Some practice over hte summer got me to a 216 PSAT and more study got me to a 2110 in January. Relaxation and a clear head got me a 2240 in April. I did almost no practice. If I practiced, I may have been able to pull off 2300.

One of my friends went from a low 200’s sophomore year on the PSAT to a 236 junior year

There is some guy on here who’s taking a Princeton Review class who said his score has already gone up 350 pts. That’s pretty cool.

its really easy if your first score is really low… i took a full length sat last year… and through studying i just took one… and I improved close to 400 points… yet i did so awful the first time

Girl self-studied, retook and improved by 500+ points.

Of course, her first score was pretty abysmal.

I went from 2050 (690 verbal, 740 math, 620 writing)
to 2290 (800 verbal, 760 math, 730 writing)

haha i went from
exactly

1870 to 2200+ it can be done.

I really appreciate the answers guys.
