My username has nothing to do with Girl Scouts (although I was a GS leader) and everything to do with The Greatest Movie Ever…and my avatar is from one of the best scenes from that movie. Who doesn’t like a girl dressed like a ham?
@marvin It’s been a tough week and your avatar creeps me out. Do a gal a favor a change it to something more soothing, pretty please?

I used to argue when I was younger. I saw some hot debates before joining CC. I promised myself to be cool when I decided to join the discussions. Cool weather makes me feel comfortable.
This is a fun thread! My maiden name translated to English means “white” and when I was young my friends used to use “white” as my last name rather than my real last name just to be clever and funny. The D is the first letter of my middle name because the first letter of my first name sounded weird! Like that matters - haha!
My avatar is the beach where we have a house - our happy place :x
My name is based on my DD’s anticipated college graduation year. When I was creating a screenname, all the ones I liked (justbreathe; itsherjourney) were taken. The photo is of the admissions office at Furman University. Such a beautiful campus and building – I couldn’t resist.
@AboutTheSame , I have always wondered if that was a picture of you, or of a member of some band along the lines of the Allman Brothers whom I didn’t recognize. You look just like a lot of my guy friends in the early/mid 70s. Always takes me back to the good old days.
Who was it who had the avatar that was a picture of four incredibly delicious-looking donuts? Used to kill me.
I am an EE and work on a lot of older electrical and electronic systems, with stuff like magnetrons and vacuum tubes. I changed my avatar from a magnetron to the Rocky statue when we went to Philly for a wedding last year. I ski and climb, usually with a camera along, so really should get a better picture up there.
@mangetron:
Vacuum tubes rock! I have a vacuum tube amplifier I love a lot:).
My name comes from having a son who is a music student, and he has been doing it for so long and such a level, that it seems like that is what I am parent to, the music lol
scout59 – I loved that movie! and the book. I remember it was a book a whole town read.
I live in Virginia and I love bluebirds.
The cat is our seven-toed companion.
Mine is a fairly obvious wordplay on MIT and the miter (or mitre).
I just like looking at the image while I’m logged into CC.
Oh, my goodness, @musicprnt, all this time I’ve been thinking “print,” and not “parent”. Thought maybe you were a composer, or monitor for ASCAP or something.
@VaBluebird : I want that kitty! What a great photo for your avatar.
@marvin100 - I was partial to your Child from the Madonna and Child.
Truth be told, I was proud of myself for tracking down the original:

As for the original question, I think my name and profile picture speak for themselves (although before I matched the image with the name, someone thought I was affiliated with Bard College).
Over 5 years ago I took out the lawn in the front yard and planted a massive garden filled with native plants (to the dismay of some neighbors, but the delight of birds, butterflies, pollinators and other wild creatures). I picked the name WildLupine because I had a lovely photo of a patch in full bloom in my front yard, and I wanted to generate some buzz for the only host plant of the Karner blue butterfly!
Lupines always make me giggle because they remind me of Monty Python.

I am Salvadorean (in LA people use the slang “Salvi”) and I am a mom. SalviMom was taken.
Salve mater is also a word play because in latin it means hail (hello) mother as I am also Catholic and have a special devotion to Our Lady. Although every time I see it in print, I think of the Alan Sherman song about the kid who’s away at camp and writes home about all the terrible misadventures he’s experiencing only to end it by saying he’s having fun and to “disregard this letter.” Hello muddah, hello fuddah, here I am Camp Grenada…
I found CC when my oldest daughter was a high school freshman & thinking about a major in musical theater. Gertrude McFuzz is the role she was currently playing in a community theater production of Seussical. Like others, if I’d known how long I’d be here, I might have given it more thought!
Well, my user name is self-explanatory. I’m a mom and live in HI. The avatar is from a trip to OR–wasn’t able to get the falls to be vertical, so they are horizontal.
