What's the meaning behind your username / avatar?

There are some unique avatar pictures and usernames here on CC. If you’re willing to share, what’s your story?

Don’t give so much info that you personally identify yourself! This is just meant as a fun way to learn a little more about each other.

I’ll start off:

DD is a competitive fencer. Fencers, even at the youth level, have their last name and country in blue capital letters stenciled on the back of their fencing jacket/vest – just like in the Olympics. The avatar is a picture of me applying DD’s USA stencil to her fencing gear. Fun with an airbrush and blue fabric dye!

My kids both attend schools at the Claremont Consortium.

I fly an Airbus, and I have two little dogs that I love more than life itself. :o3 :o3

I come from CT originally, but Nutmeg was taken, and I am a fan of Patrick O’Brian’s Aubrey/Maturin series, so I am named after The Nutmeg of Consolation. The avatar is, of course, my beloved dog striking a regal pose on “her” chair.

My name comes from what a friend called me, when I showed up for some function with an armload of freshly cut herbs. The picture is a camellia that looks like a peony. I miss peonies!

My oldest liked math. I do too, but actually am no mathematician. The avatar is a watercolor I did. Unfortunately my architecture business has taken over my life and I haven’t done nearly enough painting in the last year. I miss it.

@Consolation, I love the Aubrey/Maturin connection - much better than anything I had imagined for you!

The name is from John Denver’s song. The apples were in a market in Germany. I thought it was cool the way they put a ?sicker over the apples before they ripened.

I’m not artistic. Like, really not artistic.
I’m a big fan of having lots of “white space” whenever I have to do anything artistic.

Picture is out the window on a road trip through the Midwest.

I have 2 red poodles. I had a poodle picture for a while but I wanted to change it one day and the color in this plate and that it looks a little like a flower is related to my real name.

The username is a bit meta. I never liked disco, so it is a play on the Bee Gees parody group The Hee Bee Gee Bees.

As for the picture, Calvin fits my personality, and to my surprise, nobody had used it before.

Name: I have my grandpa’s eyes and he is Romani. So when I was a baby he used to call me “little gypsy eyes” (his English wasn’t great) so… romanigypsyeyes. (I made this account like 10 years ago when I was in high school… it’s not an s/n that I ever use anymore.)

My avatar is my dog relaxing on the couch. I threw a blanket over her and she went to sleep.

Mine is pretty easy. Many of my user names etc… are characters from literature or movies. My avatar is Veruca Salt from the Movie " Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory

My avatar is a picture of a tattoo I got when my mom died. She loved Snoopy, Gerberra daisies and was an avid quilter.

My avatar is a picture of my favorite flowering tree, the royal poinciana. My user name is self-explanatory. I’m Pat’s mom.
