What's the meaning behind your username / avatar?

Okay, @3scoutsmom . Just for you.

^ Welp, that’s way worse.

I’m a UT-Austin graduate and I live in Maine now.

@romanigypsyeyes I love your story!

Thanks @marvin100 much better;-)

@MaineLonghorn I’m in Austin next week for business meetings. I’ll wave at UT for you as I drive by.

I have one Girl Scout (now adult lifetime member) and two Boys Scouts. The "tin hat’ showed up with some discussion about National Merit merit selection. The paper in the background is D16’s NM scholarship award letter.

Mine is a dead dog.

I am a chemist (the history of the name has been documented in the prior threads on this topic) and the avatar features my two immigrant grandkitties. :slight_smile:

@stencils thanks :slight_smile:

The Office is one of my favorite TV shows ever and Creed is such a bizarre, unusual character (whereas in real life I am a pretty normal middle-aged woman).

Name is much sappier: When they were little, I often told my kids they were my lucky charms (come to think of it, I should tell them that they still are), and the numbers are their birth dates. Plus we are Irish and I love the (magically delicious) cereal.

@thumper1 I’m surprised, always thought it was a bunny (my first two rabbits were Thumper and White Collar both female but Thumper was the alpha!)

@3scoutsmom

Nope…it was a very very loved pooch! When he scratched his hears…his paw when thump thump thump on the floor…that’s how he got his name.

My username was a spur-of-the-moment choice that I figured I wouldn’t forget. I found CC when I was looking into PSAT/NMSQT info, and I set up the account simply to ask a question. I never, ever would have expected to become as active as I have, much less to stay on the forums as long as I have. The name is not one I would have picked had I known - I would have used something more descriptive, like Stacy’sMom or something. Maybe I will add an avatar someday to up my cool factor.

Cat lover

I’m from south Seattle, so sseamom. The avatar is a photo of D’s rose bush in our yard. They are her favorite flower.

I like your avatar, sseamom! Roses are a bit of a challenge to grow here, aren’t they? Mr. B loves roses… as long as I am the one taking care of them. :slight_smile:

We were lucky that our house came with several rose bushes. They’re scattered around the backyard and I don’t do that much with them. The flower in my avatar is from a plant we bought-it’s only about 2 feet high. But the color is more tan than pink-and D is tan, so it’s very special to her.

I always enjoy reading the answers to this question. Mine is made up of the first 3 letters of my old company, when I started on Parentsoup years ago. I just kept it, but an internet friend there starting referring to me as Prison lady…haha. my avatar is a picture of a dress I own when asking what type of necklace I should wear. I need to change it.

I’m Fallgirl because autumn is my favorite season. And I wanted to choose something that my kids would not necessarily associate with me.
