<p>ok, well i have to have some sort of major, i cant graduate without one, right? so … i dont want to major in a bs major.</p>
<p>So you would major in political science. Which, if you’re careful about it, can be very much like economics.</p>
<p>And stop with the “BS” major crap. All majors have their value. Everytime you say that, it makes me think that you’re looking down on about 99% of the UCLA population. STOP. </p>
<p>Besides, you can always just make your own major. Be a trendsetter.</p>
<p>all majors have their own value to each individual, what i want to with career wise is pretty limited to econ major, and math would have been a great addition but i dont have the time to put into a math major, i need to graduate asap… for personal reasons. </p>
<p>So thats like telling someone who wants to go to med school to major in art… how far in med shcool do you think they will get .</p>
<p>granted with a ba in polisci i could probably manage but it would make my life extremely difficult, a Ba in polisci is cmpletely useless in my opinion, its good for law schoool, grad school, not for employment. (ia m saying this based on what my friends with such degrees have discovered)</p>

<p>Actually, as long as you fulfill the requirements, your major is pretty superfluous in med school. Did you know that history majors tend to do pretty well with med school admissions?</p>

<p>Man, you are something else. I know plenty of people with poli sci degrees who have good careers. You realize that “employment” is not limited to what YOU do, right?</p>
<p>But let’s look at it another way…</p>
<p>You have a career goal, right? You want to be something. How do you think it’s going to look to companies when you transfer out of UCLA because of one measly class? Top businesses don’t want people who just blanche at the first sight of a challenge. They want go-getters!</p>
<p>This is ONE class, right? So get a tutor! Talk to the professor! Brush up on your formulae! You CAN do it. You’ll spend the rest of your life kicking yourself if you give up on the opportunity you have right now.</p>
<p>i dont want to major in math. id ont want to take 115a, nor do i want to take 131a. i am not intrested. i want to major in econ.</p>

<p>When you use broad language, how can we read the Malishka-mind and know otherwise? There are plenty of major chauvanists out there ready to pounce on other majors as “useless.” You’ve probably encountered enough of the south/north campus divide to know that.</p>
<p>Don’t get upset when your own vague language misleads others. The phrase “BS major” does not easily lead a person to the conclusion that it’s “BS” only for YOU.</p>
<p>i am not upset, i am just saying i wasnt trying to generalize, so i dindt see why you got on my case about it. I guess i felt like i was only talking about myself, but i can see how it can be viewed as a genralization.</p>
