what's the stats of a typical darty?

on average, does Dartmouth students have 1450 SAT I? 2220 SAT II? 4.0 GPA? Loads of ECs?
average, not the most exceptional ones

According to princetonreview it’s 1430 SAT, 30 ACT, 3.73 GPA. Obviously they have plenty of ECs and the hardest courses. Those stats also factor in recruits, legacies, URMs. So I’d say the average normal person has considerably better stats.

yikes! :S that scares me…

4 days!

1600/800/800/800/800 4.0 UW 1/5000 Triple Legacy, Parents donate $1,000,000 every year, recruited for football, basketball, and baseball and discovered the 119th chemical element

good one Xanatos.

I still think one like this won’t be accepted. That applicant should have a work experience of a decade at least and needs a Nobel in writing.

I recall a study done for the Dartmouth paper that was meant to statistically determine the highest probability for admittance. The conclusion was:

African-American female

legacy of one parent

public school in the mid-west

one SAT of 800

recruited for lacrosse

= a 65-70% likelihood of acceptance.

Your own chances can be deduced from that standard.

LOL THAT’S FUNNY.

Good point.

Although what you say is true, I would have thought any dartmouth acceptee would have saved the life of an innocent, dedicated their life to a better world for all and stood-up for a little-guy with sand in his face and kicked some bully’s a s s.

Wow, the average GPA seems lower than i thought…everyone from our area who applied is much higher than that.

Anyone meet all of Gizmo’s standards? I meet 3.5, lol. I’m female, public school, midwest, a 790 SAT (close enough? lol)

public school

one SAT of 800

Hm… I only meet 1.5 of the categories. But I got an alumni recommendation, so does that kind of cout as legacy? So I got 2 points!!! Yay. Therefore, after some simple calculations, I can deduce that my chances at Dartmouth are approximately 27%. Hey, that’s better then the regular admit rate! :p

lol calidan!

Now thats the spirit! (in reference to Calidan’s post)
