What's the UROP program at UMich?

I went to the campus day at Michigan but failed to get any info on the UROP (undergraduate research oppurtunities?). Is this similar to the Honors program where they get their own dorms? Any info would help.

Thanks

UROP is the Undergraduate Research Opportunity Porgram. It gives first and second year students the chance to do actual research with a professor in the field of their choice. Anybody can take part in it, but you still have to fill out an application and take part in an interview. I don’t think there are actual special dorms for the program, but I may be wrong.

There is a special hall in a dorm that you can live with other UROP students, UIR it is located in MoJo Residence Halls. I know a lot of people that participated in the program I would look into it online its worth a try.

Nsdances: Do you know anything about the atmosphere of the UIR floor?

It is the same as all of the other floors of the dorm. I have good friends that used to live/ currently on that floor. The atmosphere is lively just like most dorm floors.
