So, I’m a skinny guy who’s easily affected by cold weather. My hair is currently like http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-1PV6Lq79oVc/TsaC3JE2ROI/AAAAAAAAGWU/r1CsMJMXioE/s1600/DSC_0307.JPG, but I’m thinking of cutting it so I can be taken seriously at interviews, etc.

My dad is telling me not to though, saying that Winter is the worst time to cut my hair…

So… what’s the weather going to be like at Berkeley?

I reaaally want to cut it, but I don’t want to be sick all of the time.

Would it be wrong if I said wonderful? It hasn’t rained in Berkeley since July apparently…(I read that somewhere). I have a feeling February is going to be hell freezing over like last year.

It started getting cold in November/December at night (although the mornings were still fair). What will it be like? I’m predicting…rainy and windy. We’ve been particularly dry this past semester so unless we break some records, it’s gonna start raining cows and bulls.

^ It rained in Berkeley this past semester…I definitely remember one day because I went out to celebrate my friend’s birthday and was soaked

Cut your hair to look professional and wear a hat when it is cold. :-)

Dunno if this is sarcasm, but it’s definitely rained. Nowhere near as much rain as there normally is for this time of year, but there were a couple of days of rain here and there.

Anyway, it started getting colder about a month ago, and I think the beginning of spring semester will be pretty cold, and with possibly a lot of rain, since we didn’t get much this semester and it’s been unusually warm so far (that doesn’t mean its been hot though, just warmer than usual), so we’re due for some cold weather. Maybe it’s just due to growing up on the other side of the Caldecott Tunnel, because although the weather in Berkeley is has been nicer this semester, I wouldn’t describe it as “wonderful.” lt gets pretty cold in the early mornings and night (though it heats up midday) and if you’re someone who’s sensitive to cold, I imagine that the weather wouldn’t be a lot of fun So OP, if you do cut your hair, I suggest having a scarf handy or something, a hat that covers the ears, and maybe some thi gloves.

Of course, this depends on where you’re coming from. If you’re coming from the Northeastern part of the U.S or any place that gets heavy snowfall and cold winters, Berkeley probably won’t be that bad for you–in fact, it’ll be an improvement. If you come from a warm sunny area, like SoCal…yeah, you’ll probably get cold easily.

I guess I had my facts wrong lol. I just know it’s been such a dry fall and winter so far.

@nillawafer, the “wonderful” part was sarcasm. The second part of my post shows that I expect the beginning of the semester to be cold as heck.

running shirtless in this warm (even hot this week) SoCal weather. man I’m gonna miss this. even went to the beach and it was nice baha

Over 60 and sunny yesterday - I went up to my roof to tan. Hasn’t been sweatshirt weather more than maybe 5 days total since I moved here last May. Idk how it is in Feb/March, but if May-Jan is any indication, it really isn’t much different from say, LA.
