What's your breaking point?

What does it take for you to lose your composure? I’m annoyed by the recent incidents involving baseball players and coach(es?) who lose their temper and then apologize. and the cycle continues, ugh.

Personally, I never lose my composure. I don’t care if there’s a spider on my head or I’m extremely annoyed on the inside by what someone else is saying. I’m just very careful to maintain a calm and stoic demeanor. Why can’t baseball players just say “That was distasteful. You must apologize to me this minute” or “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it” or “I strongly believe that we scored a point. I urge you to reconsider your decision”?

I’ll probably break down only when I’m fighting for my life.

I lose it when someone forgets to cancel the time on the microwave or staples papers on the wrong side.

That’s about it.

Wow, Jb, that’s the epitome of “grace under pressure.”

The only time I lose my composure is when my dog has ran into the front yard. My other dog got hit by a car and died when I was younger so it scares me and makes me angry. Hes gotten away about 3 or 4 times because of my parents and once I get him back (luckily unharmed) I start screaming at them on the top of my lungs.

Aside from that, I never get really angry, or scared of bugs or anything. I’m pretty laid back. If someone is really bothering me, I just walk away or ignore them. I guess the coaches feel the need to go crazy because they feel like they wouldn’t be listened to if they said things so nicely. I guess they don’t want to be a pushover, because although I think their yelling is useless, I think being so nice would be just as useless. Also their adrenaline is going and they may get overly excited. I’ve had some coaches that have been really nice in the classroom and then on the field they turn into screaming ,cursing, grumpy old men.

These Stupid Posts Make Me Lose My Composure!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!

^^My dog got hit by a car in my front yard too. He survived though. That was over 10 years ago, and he’s still going strong!

Usually, when I lose my composure it is just for fun. I am not serious. I decide to. I have lost my composure many times (for real) with school administrators. Those idiots.

We all have different temperaments, it’s genetic…I know its only part of the story…mines in between yells at everything that moves and emotionless stone… I guess I would be average!!!

Um. I don’t know where I stand. I’m semi laid back but people who are really laid-back sometimes **** me off because I feel as though they’re not fighting for what they deserve at times or for what they say they stand for.
I get angry when I feel like people are trying to take advantage of me. But I’m more likely to give the silent treatment (to friends/family–i.e. people who would notice or care) or speak sharply than yell or use physical violence.

OP–What if you get mad at someone? Would you tell them? Because they probably wouldn’t be able to tell.

I hardly ever lose it. But the only time I’m most likely to is when my little brother starts ****ing me off. The last time I really went overboard was when he came at me with a knife and I went totally balisitic! (it was NOT pretty)

I never lose my composure.

I’m usually fine with most people.
however when I’m with my family I reach my breaking point very quickly.

^ I second that.

I’m usually pretty composed. I do freak out at scary/suspenseful parts of movies, though; I can’t take it. I hide my face, rush out to the kitchen (if I’m watching a movie at home)… it’s not very cool. :o

I don’t get mad easily–I don’t lose my temper. I hardly ever chew anyone out… maybe a couple times a year, max. Then it’s for various reasons. I can’t think of any times I’ve chewed anyone out, actually… I’ve done it before, though. Sometimes I feel like giving someone a stern talking-to, but usually it doesn’t happen. :stuck_out_tongue: Usually if I say something angry to a friend, I feel bad about it later. I’m really forgiving.

Now, when I hear kids badmouthing my mom (a teacher at my high school… er, the high school from which I just graduated), then I’m not too happy. Only one really bad incident happened, in 9th grade; I didn’t say anything to the kid who said it, but boy, was I mad.

I loose it whenever my parents use my computer.
I don’t know why, I just go a little crazy. Ever since the day I got it.

I won’t go into a complete meltdown, I just get really really annoyed. It’s also a pain to watch my mom type, cause she types really slow.
I just get frayed…

Other then that I’m laid back…just don’t touch my computer and it’s all good :)
