What's your DREAM school and why?

A place for Dear XXX University love letters or serious prose and of course, ^silly answers~

Emory!!!

-Most diverse school in the nation!!!
-top notch academics!!!

  • it’s in Atlanta!!

enough said!!!

Harvard (no surprise)

  • gorgeous campus
  • brilliant professors and students
  • great academics
    -amazing recourses
  • prestigious

Duke!

Top tier academics, gorgeous campus, great weather, amazing research opportunies and professors, school spirit and social life, and their basketball team is kind of good.

Williams College.
But I would rather not have a dream school so that if I get rejected I won’t be heartbroken.

Oxford University in England:)

Rice U.

I think it was love at first sight <3.

The city, the academics, and the campus itself.

Homer pick, I know, but UChicago. Why? An affinity for collegiate gothic architecture, a fairly pronounced masochistic streak, and I am fond of the utter lack of social pretension at the school (intellectual pretension is another matter, but no place is perfect).

Yale

-Amazing academics, of course. One of the top programs in the nation for my major.
-It’s in the northeast and pretty close to New York.
-Great student body.
-Undergraduate focus.
-Great undergraduate research/study abroad opportunities.
-Great campus (especially the residential colleges).
-Master’s Teas and concerts with people I actually care about.

Princeton. Beautiful campus, strong traditions, “elite” atmosphere.

Claremont McKenna

Specializes in economics, prestigious, great FA, nice weather, Claremont Consortium

MIT.

I always have been fascinated with the school and its graduates.

Kenyon College

Well . . . sort of. It’s six miles out in the suburbs where the mailing address is (oddly) still Atlanta.

That sounds like a good approach!

UF

  • it’s gator nation
  • strong academics, but yet still the “college experience”

Ahh nostlagia. My dream schools were HYP before I applied. Dream came true!

Central Connecticut State University. Why? There’s a great, DIVERSE community.

Stanford. But I really don’t think it will happen, unless my GPA magically rises between now and November.

@ ripemango: Oh gosh darn, why didn’t you mention that school to me earlier? :(

Princeton!

Gorgeous campus, great academics, not as much competition with graduate students for research, and the alumni network is amazing.

But Princeton is only my dream school by a tiny, tiiiiny bit. Yale, Rice, Stanford, USC, GWU, Mizzou - I could be happy anywhere, really. =)
