In this world of technology, I thought it would be fun to see what people’s favorite gadgets are.

For many years, I would definitely say my smartphone, but now it’s my Kindle Paperwhite. It completely changed my life from someone who read books pretty rarely, mostly just when traveling to a vacation destination (or for school when I was in school), to someone who now reads pretty much every day.

A WiTouch Pro. It’s a wireless TENS unit used to help reduce back pain. I’ve only had it a week but am ready to order extra gel pads so I won’t have to miss a day using it.

I love the iPad mini and Belkin bluetooth keyboard. It’s so light and portable–I have it on my lap and am typing this now. It doesn’t get hot nor heavy and is my go-to way to connect to the internet, especially if I’m reading and writing longer things.

Love the microplane graters for the kitchen; so handy for getting just a little cheese on the pasta or grating garlic or ginger!

I have a mandolin and I am afraid to use it. It is designed to be pretty idiot proof, but I make someone else do it anyway.

I do love my kindle. I love being able to throw every book I own in my purse at once and not worry about the corners getting bent. I think the winner would have to be my iphone-- to be able to write to do lists, and schedule reminders, that sync with my fiance’s phone is life altering! I can nag on the go.

Kitchen: I have a mandolin with a separate gripper that keeps you from slicing digits. But really use the Salad Shooter more if the slicing subject fits in the feed. Also love my immersion blender, Vidalia Chop Wizard and Magic Bullet. Still use the salad spinner we received as a wedding gift back in 1985.

Tech: As you can tell by my username, I’m a mac girl. Have been since I bought the original Macintosh almost 30 years ago. iPhone, iPad, iMac… got 'em all. DH gave me a TDK bluetooth speaker for Christmas that has excellent sound. Now both the kids want one. Love the Magic Mouse. I was having carpel tunnel problems with my old scroll wheel mouse and this (magically) fixed it.

General household: Gorilla Glue, duct tape and Google. Seriously, I always google an issue and have fixed things way above my pay grade! Or at a minimum, I go into negotiations with a (Yelp screened) service provider educated. That sorta counts as a “gadget,” no?

Vacu-Vin wine saver pump & corks. I keep one set in the house and one set permanently packed in my wheelie-suitcase. Inside the suitcase, I also keep a hard-plastic corkscrew that TSA hasn’t confiscated yet.
