What's your favorite Woody Allen movie?

I also noticed in each photo of Dylan as a little girl she looks miserable. At that age kids are pretty smiley, but not one smile in a bunch of photos.

I haven’t been following this story closely but found this article interesting.

<a href=“10 Undeniable Facts About the Woody Allen Sexual-Abuse Allegation | Vanity Fair”>http://www.vanityfair.com/online/daily/2014/02/woody-allen-sex-abuse-10-facts</a></p>

^^^^^
At the end of that article they provide a link to Judge Wilk’s decision, which another poster linked earlier in this thread. And I have to say that Wilk appears to be one of the few people who found the courage to stand up to Woody Allen. People may disagree with Wilk’s view of the evidence, but he was the judge. I am encouraged that he was not swayed by the public persona of Allen. Allen had a lot of clout back then, but Wilk did his job and kept the focus on what he felt was in the best interests of the child.

Undoubtedly, being raised with her adopted sister playing stepmom would have been a strange situation. But. I don’t think Allen really wanted that either.

Joblue, the story you cited in the NY Post which is NOT the most reputable newspaper in NYC, much less the world, says: “Soon-Yi was there, and Mia attacked her, at one point reportedly breaking a chair over her daughter.” Who reported? Hardly definitive.

He really hasn’t made anything good since Sleeper. Sexual relations with/marrying a non-biological somewhat adopted daughter does obvious and profoundly disturbing damage to a family. I hope they all have very good therapists.

Well, they all had “very good” therapists before any of that. Good luck to them all.

^^^ I’m not sure if they’ve had good therapists, but therapists have certainly made a lot of money off these nut-cases. …I have to admit I loved Midnight in Paris.

LOL. Sarcasm and quotes. I agree.

Oldmom, the New York Times had the following quote from Farrow in court

I don’t happen to think the NYT is any more a paragon of factual journalism than the Post and I’m not about to spend more time researching whether or not a chair was ever involved when Farrow attacked Soon Yi. However, she has admitted to violently attacking her. This is not open to question.

After seeing that demented Valentine with the skewers and dagger that she sent to Allen, you’ll have to pardon me if I don’t think she’s the poster girl for mental health. It doesn’t mean that I’m convinced that she brainwashed Dylan into thinking she was abused but it doesn’t make it absolutely impossible either.

I think it’s equally possible that Allen did abuse Dylan just as she described. It’s just that there was no real evidence then and now it’s impossible to know.

Could Allen not see the soul-crushing dynamic that he was setting up between these two women, and in fact the rest of the family? Of all the women in NY or Hollywood, he had to choose Soon Yi? Seems so twisted that one thinks it is a sick way of striking back at someone. If the rumors about Ronan are true, wondering if he knew and this was his response.

Either scenario is possible but WA and MF were also barely speaking at this time. People act like they were a normal family and he slept with one of the kids. They were anything but normal which is probably why trying to make sense of any of it is impossible. Even calling the rest of them the rest of the family is a stretch. He was not the Previn kid’s father and he never pretended to be. Heck, he didn’t even live with his own kids.

Ronan was his one biological son with Mia. But look at a picture of him online………………

Ronan was supposedly his child, although now Mia hints Ronan’s father is actually Frank Sinatra, and frankly there’s a very strong resemblance between the two. Allen did, however, adopt Dylan with Farrow.

WA didnt see the children as " a family" but as a bunch of unrelated people who lived together.

I thought WA has been in therapy, practically his whole life? Or was that just a schtick?
Id want a refund!

<a href=“Why Woody Allen May Be The Real Brainwasher”>http://www.buzzfeed.com/millicentsomer/why-has-no-one-accused-woody-allen-of-brainwashing</a></p>

Mia Farrow admitted in her autobiography that she lost it with Soon-Yi and hit her. I don’t remember her saying anything about using a chair, but it’s been a long time since I read the book.

If WA’s subconsciousness was looking for an incest, Soon Yi is the only one that fits the bill and kind of acceptable. He was a father figure to her whether he adopted her himself o not. WA and MF were together for 12 years when they split up. Soon Yi was 18-19 years old at the time. She was adopted when she was 5 or 6 (?) and spent 2 years with Previn and 12 years with WA hanging around the house.

I thought Allen adopted Dylan and Moses later, Mia adopted them first. In other words, they were not a nice, happy couple adopting two children. He was a boyfriend who agreed to adopt the only two of her kids who were not Andre Previn’s children or later adoptees. And, yeah, he had no interest in the others. This was not The Brady Bunch.

I don’t think WA was “hanging around the house” with the Previn kids as he did not live in that house.

It is hard to know what normal for extremely creative wealthy people will look like from outside. They don’t live to satisfy needs. They don’t have conventional needs. Their bonding process gotta be different. MF’s voodoo Valentine’s card to WA doesn’t shock me at all. I bet she thought that. I know I would in the given circumstance. Her way of expressing her murderous thought?

Soon Yi was not even 10 years old when WA and MF started dating. For 12 years they dated and Soon Yi grew up from 10ish to 20ish under his eyes. It’s creepier than if she was a grownup daughter of your GF at the start.

To me, MF hitting Soon Yi after being provoked is no big deal. Things got out hand at the heated moment. Slapping the face and hitting her on the shoulder doesn’t sound that violent given the gravity of the matter. Soon Yi was losing her mother as well as a father figure by sleeping with WA. it didn’t continue to a bloody nose or broken bones, did it?

When was Ronan born? If he was born at the early stage of the relatrionship with WA, MF could have been dating with both before she committed to WF. If that’s the case, you can’t call that sleeping around.

^^^
I don’t know but I always relate “creativity” with something positive. These two seem “extremely creative” in a very warped way.
