What's your high school's grading scale?

My school’s grading scale:

A = 94 -100
B+ = 90 - 93
B = 84 - 89
C+ = 80 - 83
C = 74 - 79
D+ = 70 - 73
D = 64 - 69
F = 63 and below

At my current one:

4=A=90-100
3=B=80-89
2=C=70-79
1=D=60-69

Honors=5 for A, 4 for a B, 3 for a C, 0 for a D, 0 for a F
AP=6 for A, 5 for B, 4 for C, 0 for a D, 0 for an F

You need at least a 3.5 GPA or higher to take honors a 3.7-3.75 for 1-2 AP classes and over a 4 or higher for more than 2 AP Classes.

A = 90-100
B = 80-89
C = 70-79
D = 60-69
F = Below 60

+s and -s depend on the teacher, and are only for quarters. I have several classes that should be getting a plus, but only a couple get them. Semester grades are letter only.

GPAs are weighted (although it’s not hard to calculate your UW):
AP A: 5
AP B/A: 4
AP C/B: 3
C: 2
D: 1
F: 0

No weight for Honors. Extra GP for Advanced Debate, Yearbook, and Journalism.

Nam, that’s some insane weighting right there.

My schools just adds .002 extra GPA for every AP credit. :|

90-100 A
80-89 B
79-75 C
75-70 D
69-0 F

oh forgot to add the GPA stuff with my school’s grading scale it’s

A = 4
B+ = 3.5
B = 3
C+ = 2.5
C = 2
D+ = 1.5
D = 1
F = 0

AP/Honors A = 4.5
AP/Honors B+ = 4.0
Ap/Honors B = 3.5
no extra point bonus if C+ or lower

100 = 4
99 = 3.9
98 = 3.8
etc.

Add one point to GPA for AP and honors if above a 75.

The first number is for regular classes, the 2nd is for Honors, and the 3rd is for AP:

100=5.0, 6.0, 6.5
99=4.9, 5.9, 6.4
98=4.8, 5.8, 6.3
etc.

that’s how we do our GPA too ^^^
except AP and Honors are weighted the same

It’s sort of complicated, so I’ll just chart it:

Grade__ValueGeneralAcademicHonorAP
A+97-1004.04.35.35.8
A_____93-963.74.05.05.5
A-
90-923.43.74.75.2
B+
87-893.13.44.44.9
B_____83-862.7
3.04.04.5
B-80-822.42.73.74.2
C+
77-792.12.43.43.9
C_____73-761.72.03.03.5
C-
70-721.41.72.73.2
D+
67-691.11.41.92.4
D_____65-660.7
1.01.52.0
D-___63-640.40.71.21.7
F_____0-620.00.00.00.0

(for non-ap classes):
94-100–A
90-93-- A-
87-89-- B+
84-86–B
80-83–B-
77-79–C-

etc…

A=4.0, A-=3.7, B+=3.3 B= 3.0 B- = 2.7 etc…

For every honors OR ap class, you get a +.2GPA raise, so lets say I get all A’s and im in 2 honors classes, i’ll have a 4.4GPA for the semester. Say I drop 1 honors class next semester but have same grades, you’ll have a 4.2. Therefore, a 4.3 will be your cumulative GPA. (you can only have 7 classes maximum per semester). Most valedictorians graduate with like a 5.1xxx GPA here. top 10% of the class is 4.1GPA+

My school doesn’t do weighting at all nor does it use the 4.0 scale.

A: 92-100
B: 83-91
C: 74-83
D: 70-73
F: 70 & below

My school has the 94-100 A grading scale in the original post. And the same weighting thing…guess we’re in the same county because the 94-100 thing doesn’t seem very common. A lot of people complain about it since the next county over has 90-100, but whatever, it’s not like people don’t get As or something. Some people also insist that colleges won’t know the grading scale and I don’t think that’s necessarily true. I am sure the state schools know my county’s grading scale and know that a B+ is equivalent to an A in other counties.

A 93-100
B+ 89-92
B 85-88
C+ 81-84
C 77-80
D+ 74-76
D 70-73
F 69 -

Phasing

Phase 1 = B would be a 3.0
Phase 2 = B would be a 3.0
Phase 3 = B would be a 3.2
Phase 4 = B would be a 3.3
Phase 5 = B would be a 3.4

5= AP

i kind of like our gpa scale, the only things i dont like are that there is a greater discrepancy between the honors and college prep level in terms of workload etc. that isnt adequately enumerated by our GPA scale, ours should be like tony’s above! also, its almost impossible to get an A+ in an AP class, so the val each year usually has a 4.6 or so overall, and i dont know if this looks bad or good considering the “best” is a 5.3, whatever our BOE sucks anyway
