What's your Plan B?

I’ve been trying to figure out what I want to do with my life, and law school is one of the options that appeals to me. I could see myself being a lawyer (I love problem solving and helping/advising people, don’t mind spending lots of time on research and paperwork, and excel in and enjoy the social sciences).

That said, I know that the job market for lawyers is absolutely awful.

So, I was wondering, what kind of “Plan B” scenarios do people have for after graduating law school? If you don’t get a job working for a law firm, what will you do? Fall back on whatever your undergrad degree is? Do something else entirely?

It’s not that the job market for lawyers is especially bleak compared to other fields. The job market is bleak for almost everyone right now. We’re experiencing the worst recession since the Great Depression. Traditionally, lawyers have been relatively immune to recessions, but not this time.

nice job on answering her question
