What's your school's highest GPA?

4.0uw, 4.5W

the top 10% of my school is made up of 4.0 unweighted (that is 8 students)

valedictorian has a 4.871 weighted (out of 5.0), mainly because of art and PE requirements, and the fact that our school has a policy of only weighting “core” AP classes. AP Comp Sci and AP Art and the like are unweighted.

she will attend MIT next fall.

The highest possible would be someone with 7 APs (never happens) -> 4.49

out of 100pt scale (unweighted) the highest was probably 99…

highest 4.0UW 5.0W

You kids are crazy. I’m fine with a 3.0.

The highest unweighted possible GPA at my school is 8.0, weighted is 9.0. AP and honors courses get an extra one point added on for difficultly. I’m pretty sure no one has ever attained a 9.0. To do that, you have to make every one of your required unweighted classes a pass-fail course and then get A+'s in every AP/Honors course. I think the highest that anyone has ever gotten was around 8.6 or 8.7 - not sure.

4.0, my school doesn’t weigh GPAs

4.4 unweighted
5.4 weighted

ap/honors = +1.0

and we have A+ system

5.15 in my son’s school last year.

how are weighted grades calculated in your schools. sorry to get off track but grades arent weighted here

+1.0 for AP/Honors courses at my school = weighted

+.5 Honors, +1 AP
Theoretical Maximum: 4/5
Actual Maximum: 4/4.6

The higest possible at our school is a 4.77, but the highest hit around 4.6.

Our highest is like a 4.25. We can’t take AP until our junior year, which are weighted 1 point, and we don’t get any points for honors.

I have a 4.05 and I’m barely in the top 10% (ranked 53rd out of 550ish students). My school is cutthroat competitive.

highest possible: 5.0
mine: 4.94<—highest

with all u people who has 5.0+, i’m guessing it has something to do with the A+ system?? how does that work out really? do u get an extra .5 added to the already +1 for the AP?

We have no +/- designations on report cards, only weights, so an A-=A=A+ here.

I have like 101.3% (i have 3 APs this year and 1 last year, each one’s weighted by 1.3%). There’s another girl in my class with about the same, idk if it’s more or less, and I don’t feel like checking. After that it drops down to about 96% or so/100.

do your high schools post gpa’s online or something? how do you guys know the gpas of other kids in your class?
