what's your sign?

;)
Soon it will be Happy New Year again on Jan 26th. The year of the Ox
I remembered that my younger D was a Horse, because when I was pregnant-
a friend made me a baby shirt with that symbol & we would celebrate with Dim Sum, but I never could remember what I was.

I am a Rooster! ( 1957- which makes me a fire Rooster)

um- I can’t say that any of that sounds right. and the organized always neat part? ROFL
I am blunt, but that stems from not being good with easing into a topic- and more from a lack of social skills. Honesty stems from a lack of good memory, and it is much easier to tell the truth than to remember who you told what!

[Chinese Zodiac Year Calculator](Chinese Zodiac Sign Calculator)

I am an Ox, and I am hoping that the combination of it being the Year of the Ox in the Chinese zodiac and it being a year ending in 9 will make 2009 a happy and productive year for me. :)

I find that interacts in, um, interesting ways with my sun sign, Scorpio. A lot of it is true, especially the part about home and the rural outdoors, but I tend to be a bit more proactive, calculating and off-beat than a lot of the Ox traits would give me credit for.

I’m a monkey!

Personality

Occupying the 9th position on the Chinese Zodiac, the Monkey** possesses such character traits as curiosity, mischievousness, and cleverness. Forever playful, Monkeys are the masters of practical jokes.** Even though their intentions are always good, this desire to be a prankster has a tendency to create ill will and hurt feelings.

Although they are** inherently intellectual and creative,** Monkeys at times have trouble exhibiting these qualities. When that happens, they appear to others to be confused. But nothing could be further from the truth as Monkeys** thrive on being challenged. Monkeys prefer urban life to rural, **and their favorite pastime is people-watching.

Health

Believing that being sick is a waste of a valuable day, Monkeys very rarely feel ill. Their constantly active lifestyles are likely what helps Monkeys remain in good health. When Monkeys do become ill, such feelings are generally the result of feeling nervous.

Career

When it comes to work, Monkeys can do just about anything. They adapt well to changing environments and they’re very intelligent. They work quickly, but they’ll frequently charge double for their services. Good career fields for Monkeys are accounting and banking. Other good careers for Monkeys include: scientist, engineer, stock market trader, air traffic controller, dealer, film director, jeweler and sales representative.

Relationships

When it comes to relationships, Monkeys aren’t quick to settle down. In fact, they generally are promiscuous; a tendency that probably has to do with the fact that Monkeys are easily bored. Monkeys will end this type of behavior once they pair up with the perfect partner. In fact, more often than not, they’ll commit to that person in every way for life.

Metal Monkey – Years 1920 and 1980

Metal Monkeys are determined and ambitious individuals and as a result, they’re often successful. Although they’re considered warm-hearted and very likeable, their preference in life is to be alone. Metal Monkeys are loyal to both their employers and their partners.

Wow! Many points are right on the money. Pretty cool!

I am an earth pig. I can say with confidence that it is NOT an appropriate sign for me! I read the summary … not, not, not about moi. Peacemaker? Follower? Spender (rather than saver)? LOL.

I’m a dog. Loyal and fierce. On the other spectrum I’m a “moon child”, mother to all, homebody, and emotionally warm.

I’m an Ox and much of it seems very accurate – more so than my sun sign. Thanks for the fun link.

Hey Emeraldkity we are both fire roosters since I am also a 1957. A good year.

I have to smile at this thread. For the Chinese, since it not polite to ask about one’s age, people just talk generally about birth signs (it’s not even polite to ask about one’s birth signs) and quietly figure out the age of anyone who volunteered theirs. :)

Remember, for those with January birthdays, you go by the day of Chinese New Year the year you were born, not starting January 1st, so use that calculator link. A colleague at work who adopted two Chinese girls found that out, and ended up being a sign other than what she had previously thought…

Rachacha the Rabbit

Snake woman here. Very unlucky to marry a Snake woman, my Japanese mother always told me…

"They are effective at getting the things they want, even if it means they have to scheme and plot along the way.
Snakes are very materialistic creatures, preferring to surround themselves with the finest that life has to offer. "

Good thing H wasn’t into Chinese Zodiac signs when we met…

I am a monkey (19560 Some of this sounds like me some doesn’t.
