Whoa. This thread grows quickly.

If I were to analyze myself…

I’ve tried to analyze this before myself, not really seriously, but just musing… it’s kind of hard analyzing yourself. I think I might prefer smaller framed guys, because my dad is pretty petite. Okay, my dad’s pretty darn short (5’5"). I’m short also(5’3"). Anybody familiar with the theory that girls end up marrying guys like their dad, both personality-wise and physically? I think it’s so fascinating… Guys that are too tall/big… wouldn’t that just look goofy? My idea frame is… uhm, about a head or a little bit taller than me, and muscular-slender. It also might have to do with the fact that I’m a teenager still.

I’m sure a lot of it comes from the media too. A lot of Korean male idols are really pretty, and not petite – I like tallness too! – but slender/lean/muscular. Also the white supremacy crap… nobody wants to admit it, but it is pretty deeply rooted in cultures. I don’t mean to say people WANT to be white, but right now that’s what it’s in vogue.

Another reason behind it might be that Caucasian/Asian faces are practically all I’ve encountered these past years. I would think that people are more attracted to There are hardly any black people at my school, and they’re nearly invisible if you’re taking all pre-AP and AP classes. I live in the suburbs, and it’s predominantly white and “brown”. Not many blacks, hispanics, or Asians. Familiarity – that’s a huge reason, imo.

Still, these are just personal preferences. I think across the board, everyone is attracted to things that signify youth, such as clear skin, large eyes, etc. Golden ratio. You know.

and whatever signifies that you are well-off becomes a symbol of beauty. I.e. the pale, milky skin I was talking about – you can find that in so many cultures because working would get your skin tan. I’m sure all of you guys know this.

idk, these are just my guesses and they have no scientific reasoning behind it all XD but hopefully it makes sense?
