When a college says 8 AP Classes....

Georgia Tech website says “On average, admitted students will have taken eight classes that are Advanced Placement, International Baccalaureate or college-level by graduation. Georgia Tech’s admission review process and GPA re-calculation values a student’s choice to take more rigorous courses during his or her high school career.”.

Does an AP class that lasts two semesters count as two classes? I’ve taken 1 (2 semester) and 1 (1 semester) and plan on taking 3 (2 semester) AP classes next year and 2 (1 semester) or more senior year.

So that’s a total of 7 different AP classes, but if you count each semester as one class then that’s 11. I’d like to take more but there’s not many more available for the time I have.

Thanks.

So long as you have taken what is humanly possible at your school(and have done well in said classes) then you’ll be fine.

Monsieur, I think if you are referring about AP Gov & AP Economics( which are both half semester at our high schools), they count as 2 APs because they are on two different subjects.
