<p>I need to buy a laptop this summer for school (will be going for computer science) but there’s no way my family will be able to afford one that I would want. Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe the Pell and Cal grants go directly to the school for tuition and room & board. So I want to know when and how new freshmen will be able to take out the special student loans that were shown on the unofficial financial aid letter.</p>
<p>go to the finaid office and they will help you extract some of the money from your aid package</p>
<p>also, if youre already a student, you can get a $600 no-interest loan from AS</p>
<p>also youre lucky that you selected CS rather than transferred in…people dont realize how insane it is for students to switch into CS, had many conversations about it with people right on this forum…</p>
