When are Merit Scholars announced?

<p>When does the College Board announce the actual Merit Scholars? (I.e., not just the finliasts, but the actual scholars).</p>

<p>And…how do they notify? By mail?</p>

<p>I searched through the first 5 pages of discussion threads in this forum, but I didn’t see this topic. If I missed it, would someone please be so kind as to post a link? Thanks!</p>

<p>DS is getting e-mails from several colleges, saying “As a Merit Scholar, you blah blah blah…” but we haven’t received any notification from College Board. He is wondering what (if anything) that means.</p>

<p>I’m a finalist as well and I’m fairly sure we get notified by mail around now or early May. I haven’t heard anything yet.</p>

<p>We live in NY, and S was notified he is a National Merit Scholar at the beginning of the month. A letter was sent to both, his HS and to us. Good luck to you.</p>

<p>I got a letter. I think semi finalists stiil need to apply to be the finalists. it needs GPA, rec letter…</p>
