When did you start wanting to know about colleges?

I started to really look into colleges and majors in my sophmore year.
How about you?

same here…never heard of the SAT till my best friend told me bout it…didnt know you actually had to try to get into college, up until then I thought the only thing you had to try for was to get a scholly

Hmmm, well I found out about the SAT’s since we had to take the PSAt’s in sophomore year, but I really didn’t take an interest in looking into colleges until about the august leading up to my senior year.

I never knew about the PSAT’s until the teachers told us we were taking it. I didnt get interested in colleges until I went with my big brother to visit UGA

Junior year. A late bloomer in the CC world for sure :p

Ehh…maybe late freshman/early sophmore year.

junior year

The summer before Freshman year, I think…

wow, you people…I didn’t even think about colleges until maybe the beginning of my senior year. I took the SAT in June of my junior year, knew I needed to get a decent score to go to college, and didn’t actually start thinking about college until probably August. You people would probably laugh at my naivety while applying; I thought I was lucky that my parents let me apply to 4 colleges, never heard the term URM or hook before, never knew there were books on how to apply for college, never took tours of the schools I applied to, etc.

In the end everything worked out great for me, and I am so glad I didn’t find CC until after I applied to my schools, it would have made me go crazy.

When I popped out of the womb wearing a Yale sweater.

^ haha… That is quite depressing.

I started early sophomore year.

I remember when I was 13 I opened up a big book of Barrons b/c I had taken the SAT and I wanted to see where I fell. The first school I found was Cal Tech. I said Holy ***** those scores are high. I’ve been intruiged with the whole process ever since.

My mom came home one day in early March of my sophomore year with a publication “America’s 25 Hot Colleges”, and I read it cover-to-cover. I’ve been interested ever since.

Mid-sophomore year. I’d moved to the US from Europe in middle school and knew absolutely nothing about colleges here. At the time I didn’t know about financial aid, so for a while I just assumed I wouldn’t go to college, because I knew my family couldn’t afford to pay the $50k/year for it. I was actually really upset about it.

I wanted to know about colleges in middle school.

early junior year

i had some ideas freshman and soph year but i got on CC soph year

umm, about 2 weeks before it was time to apply… real smart, i know

^haha…did you at least end up at a school you wanted to go to?

end of 10th grade. My parents also bought me one of those top-50-colleges-written-by-the-students-themselves!- books… At the time, I was like “psfff 740 is the median for maths? this place will be easy to get into”
…I havent been able to get over 700 for that damn math section for the past year
