when do reg decision kids find out if they got in?

Late March, I believe.

Actually, I think the information says not until April 10. I hope you are right and I am wrong! :)

I got in last year and I received the package March 29th. I think they say April 10th to give themselves a window of time in case something goes wrong (computer glitch…, etc.) hope that helps.

is the reply deadline still may 1st?

darn, that isn’t much time…

reply deadline of may 1st is pretty much for every college in the US…

not like it would matter. if pomona was the only school with a deadline past may 1st then either you send your “hey i wanna go to your school” to some other school besides pomona, or you wait past may 1st and end up only having pomona as a choice. so really, even if pomona decided to extend the deadline, you would have to still make up your mind by may 1st.
that being said, yeah its may 1st.
and the end of march is sounding not too far away, im very very scared, seeing how this was probably the first year anyone from my school has applied to pomona, from a public in kansas, and my friends decided they liked the school too, one with a 1580, and 2340 on the SAT2s…oh how scary and sad it is to be competing against that…

will they take into consideration the fact that i flew in and did an overnight visit and an on campus interview, where as my friend did not do either?

Yes I think they will. My S had friends with higher scores from his HS who did not get in, One was waitlisted and had no interview and another got into Stanford and not Pomona . Also there were a few schools for last years class where 3 students attended from 1 HS. That is not how many were accepted but how many were attending.

Kosuke–I agree with arizonamom. Both my D and one of her classmates were accepted ED1 to Pomona. A couple of other qualified students have applied RD, and it should be interesting to see if they are accepted as well.

I believe that your application is considered in relationship to those from ALL the other applicants, just not from the ones from your high school.

so…does anyone know for sure when decisions come out?

I suspect they will consider that fly-in personal visit. They will think you a motivated, serious candidate, that has plenty of dough. Good luck!

kosuke, how does your friend have a score on the new sats already? wasn’t the first changed day yesterday?

SAT2: total of 3 800 point tests

sorry, when i said 2340, i meant SAT2s of 800, 800, and 740. not the new SAT

ahh… haha makes sense. sorry.

any current pomona student willing to pull some strings in the admissions office or convince an adcom to admit me? charlez, didnt you say that pomona told its freshman hosts to write recs for their prospies if the prospie asked? im kidding…
but really, the waiting is getting insane…oh, got waitlisted, aka rejected, from washu yesterday. a trend of waitlists, no thank you.
