When do high schools receive AP grades?

When do high schools receive AP grades?

My teachers told me they get the grades when school starts. I don’t know when the schools receive the grades though.

ugh, I hope I didn’t bomb any of my self studies…that would so embarrassing for my AP coordinator to see; especially since I’m the only person to ever self study in my school and she was like, bragging to all the administrators.

I know I got at least a 4 on APgov (but probably a 5), but I procrastinated with APstats so i could end up with a 3.

The schools get a printout shortly after the individuals themselves do. Usually, our school’s grades are postmarked the second week of July.

Unfortunately, I don’t actually see those grades until mid-August, because our school is “closed” and therefore, we don’t get the mail sorted until two weeks after we re-open to staff.

Hey MathProf, sorry if this is private, but I’ve always been curious:
When high school teachers get their class grade reports back, do they have a page where is says what grade each student got, or is anonymous?

I would think it shows the AP score each student got because I know there are teachers who bump up a letter grade for students who received a certain score.

^ yup (I’m really counting on one of those bumps)

Haha, aren’t we all? One of those bumps doesn’t happen to be APUSH does it? I just need a 3 to bump my second semester grade to an A.

^depends on whether your teacher bumps grades based on AP scores. If you’ve never heard of it, then most likely it doesn’t apply to you.

The report contains the names of all the students with your school’s code who took the test, as well as the scores of each individual student on that test. The report is categorized by test (Calculus AB on one list, Calculus BC on a second list, and if I recall correctly, Calculus AB subscores for BC students on a third list).

Does the teacher’s report contain the raw score, or simply 5,4,3,2,1?

Posts #6,7: You are kidding, right??? Never heard of that around here…

Does AP scores go on your transcript when you apply to colleges…?

this might seem like a very naive question…sry

it depends on the school, probably, I know mine did

Yoshikiu, my Calc teacher told the class that each summer he attempts to guess each student’s score on the exam and then see the correlation (or lack thereof) to the actual AP score, so YES teachers do see individual scores.

Nope, but I can understand if you’ve never heard of teachers doing this; I honestly don’t think a whole lot do.

mstrlndcwys, I know my AP English teacher actually told me in person that he expected me to be one of the 15% of students in his class to pass and get at least a 4. Your calc teacher didn’t happen to guess each student’s score out loud in class, did he? lol

mushmouse, it’s just the 5-4-3-2-1 score, not the raw score.

Jk_91:

its not that uncommon. teachers want to have better AP results from their students so they offer incentives like higher grades.

worked like a charm in my skool - a lot of people studied

4 - at least 92
5 - at least 96

Wait. How would teacher bump of grades if grades are already closed by the time AP scores are up?

Grade change forms. It happens all the time for various reasons.

My teacher’s system is a little different. Since she makes the class extremely difficult the class averages are often really low. I think there were only 1 or 2 As this year.

5 = at least a B
4 = at least a C
3 = at least a D
