When do you have to declare dual degree?

If I want to major in biological sciences, but want to do dual degree with pre-law, when do I have to declare that? Is it end of sophomore year? Or earlier? Later? Thanks.

I could be wrong in my understanding, but, in reading the NU site:

I do not believe a degree in “pre-law” is an option at NU. You do want to put Biological Sciences as your major of choice in your application, however you do not formally declare until end of Sophomore year/beginning of Junior year.
Do plan to discuss your interests with your advisor, who will assist you in formulating a plan of action.

Oh, i think the exact pre-law (ish) degree is legal studies. Sorry. hahah. I know they are different. Thanks for that.

I think you want to declare a double major, not a dual-degree…

Oh, I thought that was what was implied with dual degree. How are they different? Thanks tons

I think of a dual degree as meaning a degree from two undergraduate schools within the university. You don’t need to major in any particular major as a pre-law student - law schools accept students who have majored in a wide variety of subjects. I think you can declare your major any time before the end of sophomore year. The Northwestern website has info on declaring majors/minors, etc.
