Penn State is my top choice and I got in two months ago but haven’t received any merit scholarship… I got in at University Park. Does that mean I am not getting anything or do they come out randomly? I have a 3.5 GPA and got a 27 on my ACT. I received scholarship from Delaware and Indiana as well.
Thanks!

“Penn State does not offer standard merit awards for students who fit particular profiles.”
“Approximately 6,700 first-year students receive a University scholarship (all campuses).”
“35% of first-year scholarship recipients are at University Park; the remaining 65% at Penn State campuses.”
“Typical Penn State scholarships are between $1,500 to $3,000 per academic year.”
I’ve seen March as an estimate for when FA information might come out, I think? But don’t expect much. As you can see the number of scholarships they give out is pretty small. Loans are the majority of the “aid.”
Your stats are right on the average for Penn State. http://www.budget.psu.edu/CDSRedesign/cds.aspx?reportindicator=FreshAdmn&Location=UP&AY=20152016
What scholarships do you think you’ll receive? Penn State gives out very little in merit aid and OOS students aren’t going to get any financial aid from PA.
PSU is LOUSY with merit, I doubt that you’d get anything with your stats. Even those with much higher stats usually get NOTHING.
PSU seems to give SMALL merit to its SHC students. After the scandal, PSU gave some “yield protection scholarships” for a year (or maybe two years) post scandal.
