when exactly should i take and register for the sat and/or act?

hey everyone i was wondering when i should take these tests?
I am a junior here in texas.
I have already took the psat this year as well.
my school is going to “host” the act on April 13
and the sat on June 1st…

should i take these tests before these dates or are my schools dates ok time to take it?
when exactly should i register for these test dates?
if i take on these dates how many times afterwards is it possible to retake them? if i going to apply to college senior year??

Whenever you want.
My recommendation is to start taking them your junior year.

Before the deadlines.

As many as you want (and can afford).

From my personal experience, it’s best to finish them your junior year. Senior year is going to be crazy enough for you with all your college apps, and having to study for the ACT/SAT on top of that is going to be really hard. At least it was for me haha.

golf father i know all the test dates what im trying to figure out is which date is better to take them. I am a junior right now so thats why im trying to figure out if my schools date which i listed above is a good time to take it for the first time or should i do it sooner or later? i want to be able to get my scores and have time to retake it before i have to apply to college.

take them your junior year so you dont have to scramble by the time you are a senior…

Your first attempt should definitely be during your junior year, typically around spring time. December would have been way too early to me. I took it for the first time on Saturday, June 2, which was after my junior year ended. School ends sometime in May for me. March to June would be fine. It’s a good idea to retake it during your senior year, from September to November.

I’d advise you to take the SAT in a total of two to three times unless you happen to attain a high score in the 2300s or a perfect 2400 during your first attempt. Of course a “good score” is all subjective. It’s really up to you. Just remember that a majority of second-time takers score higher on their second attempt. I took my second attempt on Saturday, November 3. If you decide upon taking it a second time, make sure you use the time before test day for preparation. Don’t overdo it because that’s also not good. Just make sure you familiarize yourself with the SAT’s structure, work with concepts you need improvement on, know the types of questions that may be on the test, etc. Your first attempt should help you get a better idea of the SAT.

Consider using books such as the ones made by Kaplan, Princeton Review, and Barron’s. They offer useful information to help you prepare for the SAT. I honestly didn’t prepare much for my first test, but I prepared a lot more for my second test. The books really helped me out a lot. They should work for you, too. I didn’t take any preparatory classes, but you might be interested in them as well. They’re typically pricey, however.

I hope it all goes well. Good luck. If you need any further help, feel free to message me.

alright so i will take it on my schools date. and im taking the act as well. and i got a princeton review sat book from my local library. so i guess thats the plan. and ill retake when this school year is over. and again if needed after senior year starts.
