In looking online at courses, etc., I’m curious to know when most current freshmen will have done their online registration process through Testudo. D is trying to get a general idea of what courses may be available when she goes to Orientation in June…I’m assuming that it’s still early in the process? When is a more realistic time to take a look online? (although she knows that nothing is set until she actually registers on-campus). Thx.

We’re actually pretty late into registration. Registration should be pretty much over by May 10th (finals).

Yay for incoming freshmen taking initiative. Makes my job this summer run all the more smoothly.

Thanks! Now all we have to do is get through the scheduling nightmares for the months of June (and July) and actually get her to College Park to register!

Somebody is correct… it ends the 9th… well ends meaning everyone is allowed to register. You can mess with your schedule as much as you want but most people do it and leave it.

I registered on the 3rd or 4th with 14 credits yet my friend who also has 14 registers on the 7th. Kinda weird but guess bad luck. Your daughter will most likely take a lot of classes that have the red stars next to them. They are reserved for underclassmen. I went to the second orientation and the selection is pretty thin. Try and get ATLEAST 2 COREs out of the way, a major class, an elective and UNIV.

man, when I go to the registration part of testudo this is what it says:

You do not have an appointment to register for the upcoming semester. Please call the Registrar’s Office at (301) 314-8240 to make an appointment.

I’m supposed to go to orientation like on the 29th though…but I’d like to start registering for classes now.

You cannot register for classes until you go to Orientation.

Yup. Its a pretty crappy process too. Very slow. I went in a group of 3 up to the computer where the advisor is and you just hope the classes they told you were open are still open. I got lucky and made a really good schedule, but some people had to tweak a lot afterwards… which of course you can do.
