I thought he was making fun of himself.

“I want to be here long enough for my future grandchildren to remember the active things we did together.”
-When I visit my S’s family, my DIL keep saying that she wishes that my S. has as high level of energy as I do. I have hard time sitting down, I need to do things all the time. We have cleanned GradD’s room, inluding walls and hanging some pictures. I believe that we had a great time. But GrandD. is sooo busy, still had whole tons of homework while on her winter break. We even visited Met - museum for her art assignment. I also has gone with her to walk doggies - she was hired by frineds who went to Florida, money for this job in NYC are unbelievable. I loved everything that we did with her. When they visit here, I do lots of pottery with my GrandS, her little Bro. We love doing that together also. He is so good at it. I wish they live where we do. But the kids are so busy, I probably will not see them much anyway, they are burried with activities (by their own choice) and both are exceptionally good students and have tons of friends.

I am not sure that Eliot was making fun of himself–I half-remember reading that his target was an English professor at Harvard.

When I am older, I am going to be certain of even less. :)

In conversation with my older sister (who just turned 63), I found out last night that our grandmother died of a stroke at age 63; I had not realized she died so young–her youngest child was 19.

dmd77, in the olden days, lots of people died relatively young of things that can nowadays be postponed or avoided completely.

My dad’s 92 and introducing him to Siri–ask a question and this voice returns the answer?–is too cool.
He’s pretty sure Siri doesn’t know as much as he does…
If your mind is good, so are you.

When I am an old lady I will not dye my hair. I have silver streaks now and have no prob. with that. 83 year old MIL continues to dye her hair a scary color. Not for me.

When I’m an old woman, I will still dress with style and will still wear almost no makeup (sort of like what the queen does).

I’ll just be me!
