When is the pass/fail deadline for engineers?

According to this link: [Michigan Engineering | Undergraduate Drop/Modify Deadlines 2007-2008](http://www.engin.umich.edu/students/bulletin/intro/deadlines.html), it’s about 2 months after the term begins for engineering.

According to this link: [College of Literature, Science, and the Arts | Students](http://www.lsa.umich.edu/umich/v/index.jsp?vgnextoid=49994f2a3afba110VgnVCM100000a3b1d38dRCRD&vgnextchannel=5e584f2a3afba110VgnVCM100000a3b1d38dRCRD&vgnextfmt=default), it’s 3 weeks after the term begins for LSA.

Are the deadlines really that drastically different for engineering and LSA students? The class I’m taking pass/fail is econ 101, which is an LSA class. Which one applies? I’m asking because I want to know if the deadline will be before or after my first midterm which is Feb. 11.

Yes, the engineering P/F deadline is about 9 weeks into term. This deadline applies for anyone in engineering regardless of what college the class is in. So you’ll be able to decide after your midterm.

I don’t doubt what Kastsm has said, however, Econ is an LS&A class.

Figuring out too late that the LS&A deadline applies instead is a bad situation, however it is completely avoidable. There is no point in not emailing LS&A and Engin directors to make this absolutely clear.

You might as well post the result here for future people with the same question.

I guess for your own peace of mind you might as well double-check, but from personal experience I can tell you that I just took a 300 level philosophy class P/F and made it P/F about 8 weeks into term.

Engineers get P/F at the engineering deadline…doesn’t matter what school the class is in.
