When should I apply to graduate school?

I’m entering my final year of undergrad. One of the graduate programs I’m considering is the MSc in Public Policy and Administration at LSE. Unlike Graduate programs in the US, LSE has rolling admissions and recommends all applications be sent early (applications open October).

I’ve so far earned 76 credits. I will be taking 18 in the Fall, 3 in the Winter, 16 in the Spring, and 7 in the first summer session. If I submit my application in the Fall, they will only see the 76 credits and perhaps what I intend to take in the Winter and Spring.

The website doesn’t indicate a minimum number of credits. Should I wait until January when I’ll have 94? The risk being that seats will fill.

Does your undergrad program only require 94 credits? That seems short; most programs require around 120.

Regardless, when you apply there is usually a place for you to add what classes you plan to take in the rest of the academic year. You can make it clear that you plan to take enough classes in the coming quarters to allow you to finish your BA by the time you begin the MSc at LSE, so you should submit your application in the fall.

Yes, 120 credits are required but I would have 94 after the Fall 2014 semester. 20 in the Winter and Spring + 6 in the summer = 120.

Thanks! I know they have conditional offers, I just hope 76 isn’t too low of a number to apply with.
