I have work on the fifth, and was wondering when to tell my boss I can come in. I’ve heard that I should be out by 1, but I’m hesitant to tell him that I can come at 1 if I can’t

Test time is 3 hr 45 min (without breaks), so roughly 4 hours with breaks. Remember to account for any travel time between your test and work.
You should be out by 1:00 pm. But sometimes they can start a bit late for a number of reasons, so tell your boss you will be out by 1:30 latest. I’m sure he/she will understanding for an SAT exam.
I agree that you shouldn’t rely on being out by 1, especially since you’ll probably want to grab lunch or something after the test. I agree with @londondad: 1:30 should be better.
