Hello. I live in TX. I went to public school until the second semester of 11th grade. Then I did homeschooling. I am now in my first semester of 12th grade and I have never taken the SAT or ACT. I hope to attend college in fall 2015. When should I take the SAT and ACT tests?

You need to take the SAT and/or ACT by December for most schools that accept applications for Fall 2015. Rolling admission schools make take scores later than January. You need to check the website for each school you are interested in applying. Just note that you are way behind with your testing schedule. Most Seniors would have at least 1 test under their belt prior to starting their Senior year.

Good Luck.

Yeah, you need to sign up ASAP because December is the last date for most schools.

Oh I didn’t know that December was the last date that many schools accept the tests. Is there any particular reason why they don’t accept the test if say I take it in January or march? I’m interested in applying to Lone Star College (Kingwood TX) and to the University of Houston. (Houston TX) I couldn’t find info about SAT deadlines on the websites though. I guess I should go in person.

Thanks everyone!

For University of Houston, date is Aug 2015 unless you are interested in Scholarships, then Dec 2014.

Most colleges require apps be done in January and issue their acceptance letters in March. They can’t consider a March test for that. Even January is dicey.
