So I’m currently a sophomore in high school, and a little while ago I got my PSAT scores and they were as follows:
Critical Reading: 59
Math: 64
Critical Writing: 67
Total: 190
I am more than happy with these scores, and among my parents, the topic of taking the SAT naturally came up. My parents have suggested that I take it in June, after my AP test. They want to see what kind of score I get, so if I need to, I can take an SAT prep course, like a lot of my friends are looking into doing. This seems fine with me, but I do have a few questions. Feel free to answer some or all of them:
- How closely do PSAT scores translate to SAT scores? Like, I don’t want to go take the SAT and get like, 1400 or something.
- At the place that I’m at (score-wise and grade-wise), would it be a good idea to take it?
- I know that I really need to improve my critical reading score, but what about my math and writing scores? Are those considered good? Please note that at the time of the test, I hadn’t taken Geometry yet, so I really didn’t know what I was doing for like, 1/3 of the math.
Thanks! :D
